As always I hunt around when buying anything to save a few quid . Best price around for 2 sealed for life 10 year smoke detectors. Obviously a smoke detector ( preferably 2 ) is an absolutely essential safety device for your home . Often neglected (as I did ! I have 3 ) . Heard a “chirping” sound every 30 seconds but couldn’t place it ????. Thought it might be the fridge or freezer door alarm (wasn’t that ) . Then it dawned on me , smoke detector – Checked 2 both dead , still dead after battery replacement !!!! How long have they been dead for ? ????. Anyway ordered this twin pack 10 year sealed for life , best price (from a reputable seller ) I could find . I would only ever buy Fireangel or Kidde brands . Anyway the “Cheep ” persisted ????, after 2 days found it , one in the hall I had completely forgotten was there , a new battery fixed this one and thankfully no birds or Locusts trapped in my house . The moral of the story ? I’m buying 2 sealed for life 10 years models , no need to change batteries every year . I like to think I’m quite a responsible bloke and not yet completely doolally ? However 2 of my 3 smoke alarms “died ” without me noticing . Perhaps time to check yours ?.
